Delete your account
You can have your Braindrop account and everything stored in it permanently deleted. No conditions, no retention period we quietly keep it for, and no need to explain why.
How to request deletion
Email us from the address your Braindrop account uses, so we can confirm the request is really coming from you. Put "Delete my account" in the subject line — the button below fills that in for you.
If you no longer have access to that email address, write to us anyway and we will work out another way to verify you.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Every drop you have created — transcripts, titles, notes, delivery history, and the technical records attached to them.
- Anything sitting in your Braindrop Inbox.
- Your usage records and any subscription entitlement we hold.
- Feedback you submitted through the app.
- Any voice recording still held in our storage from a capture that failed partway.
Braindrop deletes each audio file as soon as it is transcribed, so in almost all cases there is no recording left to remove — but we check and purge anything left over from a failed capture. Recordings held in Braindrop's storage on your own phone are removed when you uninstall the app.
What lives on your phone instead
Your connector credentials — Slack webhook URLs, ClickUp tokens, custom webhook headers — are stored in encrypted storage on your device and never uploaded to us, so account deletion does not touch them. Uninstalling Braindrop removes them, along with any drops still queued offline.
How long it takes
We action deletion requests as quickly as we can and always within 30 days. Once it is done we will confirm by email. Deletion is permanent — we cannot restore an account afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first.
Cancel an active subscription separately
If you subscribe to Braindrop Plus, deleting your account does not cancel the subscription — Google Play owns that billing relationship, not us. Cancel it in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions before requesting deletion, or you may continue to be charged.
