Privacy Policy
Effective August 24, 2026
Braindrop turns a short voice note into a task, lead, or message and sends it to a destination you choose. This policy explains exactly what that involves for your data — in plain language, without legal padding.
Who we are
Braindrop is built and operated by ReliTech Solutions LLC in Lee Center, New York. We are the controller of the data described below. You can reach us any time at john@relitechsolutions.com.
What Braindrop collects
- Your email address, used to create and sign in to your account.
- Voice recordings you make in the app, uploaded temporarily so they can be transcribed.
- The transcripts and drops created from those recordings, including titles, notes, and delivery status.
- Technical records for each drop: how long the recording was, which AI model processed it, how much text was processed, and when.
- Delivery records: which destination you sent a drop to, and what that service sent back, such as a task ID or link.
- Usage counts — how many drops you have made in the current month — so we can apply free and subscription plan limits.
- Your subscription status, if you subscribe to Braindrop Plus.
- Feedback you choose to send us through the app, including your account email and an optional reply-to address.
- Standard sign-in security logs, including IP address and timestamps, kept by our authentication provider.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, or your other apps. Aside from your recordings, what you type, and your device's time zone — used only so that a phrase like "next Friday" resolves to the right date — we take nothing from your phone.
How your voice notes are processed
This is the part worth reading closely. When you record a drop, the audio file is uploaded to private storage that only your account can reach. It is then sent to OpenAI's API, which converts the speech to text and — depending on the destination you picked — extracts structured details such as a task title or due date.
Once transcription succeeds, the audio file is deleted from our storage — we do not keep a library of your recordings. If a capture fails partway, for example because the app closed or your connection dropped mid-upload, a recording can occasionally be left behind in storage; we remove any such leftovers when we find them, and you can ask us to purge them at any time. A copy of each recording also stays in Braindrop's own storage on your phone until you uninstall the app.
The resulting transcript stays in your account until it is deleted. If you record while offline, the audio stays on your phone until you reconnect.
What never leaves your device
The credentials for your own destinations — Slack webhook URLs, ClickUp tokens, and any custom webhook headers — are stored in encrypted storage on your phone. They are not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot read them. When Braindrop delivers a drop to one of those destinations, it goes directly from your device to that service.
Who we share data with
- OpenAI — receives your audio, transcripts, and the extraction settings for the destination you chose, such as your ClickUp status names, your webhook’s field names and instructions, and your device’s time zone. They process it on our behalf as a service provider.
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and temporary audio storage.
- Resend — delivers the feedback you send us to our support inbox, including your account email address and any reply-to address you provide.
- Google Play and RevenueCat — handle subscription purchases and tell us whether your subscription is active. Payment card details go to Google and never reach us.
- The destinations you configure — Slack, ClickUp, or your own webhook endpoints receive the drops you deliberately send to them.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and Braindrop contains no advertising or third-party tracking. We do not read your drops except when you explicitly ask us to help with a support issue.
How long we keep things
- Voice recordings: deleted from our storage once transcription succeeds; occasional leftovers from failed captures are removed manually.
- Drops and transcripts: kept until they are deleted or you delete your account.
- Account, usage, and subscription records: kept while your account is open.
- Feedback you send: kept so we can act on it and follow up if you asked for a reply.
Your choices and your rights
Deleting individual drops from inside the app is not yet available. To have specific drops or your entire account removed, email us and we will delete them for you — see the account deletion page for how that works and what it removes.
If you would like a copy of the data associated with your account, or have a question about how it is handled, email us and we will help.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Your drops, transcripts, and account records are protected by per-user database rules so that one account cannot read another's, and audio is held in private, per-user storage for the brief period before transcription. Connector credentials use your device's encrypted secure storage.
No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you directly and promptly rather than burying it.
Children
Braindrop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Braindrop handles your data, we will update this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
Questions about your data
A real person reads this inbox. Ask us anything about what Braindrop stores or how to get rid of it.
